Active in no less than four series!
In 2018 DVB RACING is tackling a solid motorsport year. The Willebroek based team will be active on various fronts and with the necessary ambition on all of them. On their menu the Belcar Endurance Championship, the Supercar Challenge, the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Benelux and playing an active, technical role in the brand-new Ford Fiesta Sprint Cup Belgium. On top of that DVB RACING will be calling on fast and experienced drivers and as such will be looking to finish up front in each of these championships.
A quick look back to 2017 and most probably the most successful season for the team whose workshops are located between Mechelen and Temse. In the 24 Hours of Zolder DVB RACING produced a solid scoop through being the first to clinch victory in the toughest endurance race in the world with a Prototype. A few weeks later they added a title in the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Benelux, put in by the fast Limburg driver Xavier Maassen. As such in 2018 DVB RACING will once again be going full out to claim another tittle in the fastest one-make cup of the Benelux.
Sprint and endurance.
But DVB RACING is not only focusing on sprint events. The team will also be leaving its mark in the longer races and true endurance competitions.
Ronald Hessels: “Perhaps one of the surprises is that together with Koen and Kris Wauters we will also be tackling the Supercar Challenge, a championship where we will be entering no less than three Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars. With Koen and Kris in the Supercar Challenge we want to do what we also do in the other disciplines: battle it out for the title. The three German GTs will compete in the entire championship, which includes three races on home ground, twice at Spa and once at Circuit Zolder.”
Who mentions Zolder, also thinks of the Belcar and here also we will see Russel Racing by DVB RACING in action. Once again the team will be calling on the Norma M20, with one car entered or the entire season and a second to be seen in a selection of the races.
Back to sprint.
Last but not least the team will be providing the technical assistance and the spare part service in the brand-new Ford Fiesta Sprint Cup Belgium. As a reminder this new sprint championship is aimed at young drivers emanating from the karting world, gentlemen drivers with a heart for sprint events and other enthusiasts of short close fought races. For all clarity DVB RACING will not be entering cars in the new Belgian championship.
